EAA CHapter 234 Young Eagles

Chapter 234 holds monthly Young Eagles Workshops to introduce young people ages 12–16 to aviation and STEM-related activities. 

The club teaches them the principles of flight, navigation, airplane and airport terminology, airspace and air traffic control through hands-on activities such as aircraft builds, visits to aviation-related facilities and flight simulator sessions.

The Young Eagles Club Workshops are NOT flying events.

IMC/VMC Club

Our chapter offers an IMC/VMC Club for members interested in improving their flying in both instrument and visual conditions, with the goal of promoting proficiency and safety and fostering a sense of community.

This season's IMC/VMC club will concentrate on exploring Advanced Qualification Program (AQP) for general aviation presented by Josh Shively, an aviation instructor at Northwestern Michigan College.

IMC/VMC clubs will take place on the third Thursday of each month at Legacy Aviation Learning Center at the EAA 234 standard starting time of 6:30 p.m.

It’s an informal gathering of aviation enthusiasts, chatting about anything and everything to do with flying (and a lot of other topics, too). And, if it's a good day for flying, we might even plan a Saturday adventure.
